Meet Our Surgery Team

Gallbladder Removal (Cholecystectomy)

We offer minimally invasive gallbladder surgery, often done laparoscopically or robotically, to treat gallstones and gallbladder disease, helping patients recover faster and with less discomfort.

Hernia Repair

Our surgeons specialize in repairing various types of hernias, including inguinal, umbilical, hiatal, and ventral. We use modern surgical methods to restore strength and function while minimizing downtime.

Appendectomy

When appendicitis strikes, timely care is critical. We provide emergency appendectomies 24/7 to relieve pain and prevent complications.

Removal of Growths and Tumors/Skin lesion removal

We carefully remove both benign and cancerous growths from soft tissues and organs, using precise surgical techniques to ensure the best outcomes.

Colon and rectal Surgery

Our surgeon performs various procedures, ranging from minor office-based treatments and diagnostic colonoscopies to major, complex operations like removing part of the colon (colectomy) or rectum (rectal resection), often using minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopic or robotic surgery).

A colorectal surgeon, is a specialized physician who focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of conditions affecting the lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract, specifically the:

  • Colon (large intestine)
  • Rectum
  • Anus
Thyroid and endocrine disorders

Our surgeons treat a range of thyroid and other endocrine disorders by surgically removing part or all of the diseased gland. The most common glands we operate on are the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands.

Breast Surgery

Our surgeons play a major role in the surgical treatment of both benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) breast conditions. The most common types of breast surgery performed are:

Lumpectomy (Breast-Conserving Surgery):

  • What it is: The surgeon removes only the cancerous tumor and a small margin of surrounding healthy breast tissue, leaving the rest of the breast intact.
  • Goal: To conserve as much of the breast as possible while achieving clear margins (no cancer cells at the edge of the removed tissue).

Mastectomy (Total Breast Removal):

  • What it is: The surgical removal of the entire breast tissue, including the nipple and areola.
  • Types: This can include a simple (total) mastectomy, or variations like a skin-sparing or nipple-sparing mastectomy (often in coordination with a plastic surgeon for reconstruction).
  • Prophylactic Mastectomy: Removal of breast tissue to prevent cancer in high-risk patients.

Lymph Node Surgery:

  • Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB): Removal of only the first one to three lymph nodes to which the tumor drains, to check if cancer has spread. This is a common part of most breast cancer surgeries.
  • Axillary Lymph Node Dissection: Removal of a larger group of lymph nodes from the armpit, typically done if the sentinel nodes are positive for cancer.

Additional surgeries:

  • Surgical Biopsy (Excisional/Incisional Biopsy): Removing an entire suspicious mass (excisional) or a portion of a large mass (incisional) for diagnosis when needle biopsies are inconclusive or not feasible.
  • Removal of Benign Lumps: Excising masses like large fibroadenomas or other non-cancerous tumors that are causing pain, growing rapidly, or have unusual features.
  • Incision and Drainage: Treating abscesses (collections of pus) in the breast.
Emergency Abdominal Surgery

Emergency abdominal surgeries are procedures performed to treat sudden, severe conditions within the abdomen that are often life-threatening and require immediate intervention. These procedures are typically done to control bleeding, stop infection, relieve obstruction, or repair a perforation (hole).

Vascular Surgery

Our vascular surgeons deal with conditions that impact blood flow, including blockages, narrowings, weakness, and clots.

Varicose Vein treatment

We have surgeons that treat damaged valves in veins, causing pooling of blood, swelling, pain, and enlarged, twisted veins.

Bariatric Surgery

Our bariatric surgeons specialize in performing surgical procedures on the stomach and/or small intestine to treat severe obesity and associated metabolic diseases.

Our surgeons do not just perform the operation, but manage our patients through the entire surgical process, with optimal outcomes as our goal.

At Madison Medical, we use advanced surgical technologies and techniques designed to make your experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. Our approach focuses on minimizing pain, reducing scarring, and helping you recover faster so you can get back to doing what you love.

  • Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic or Robotic Surgery: Smaller incisions mean less discomfort, fewer visible scars, and often a quicker hospital discharge.
  • Advanced Imaging Technology: Our surgeons use high-definition imaging for enhanced precision and accuracy during your procedure.
  • Same-Day Surgery Options: Many of our procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, allowing you to go home the very same day.
